Jobless Hippies
Wednesday, June 28, 2006

Is anyone else sick of hearing about our declining environment? I certainly am, especially since I'm not doing anything to hurt it. I don't drive an SUV, I seldomly recycle (which is more than I can say for everyone else) and I do my part in saving electricity in my home by shutting off lights in empty rooms.

So why should I be bombarded by radical environmentalists on television, movies, and street corner protests by a bunch of jobless hippies? Look, I understand saving our environment is important, but I'm not the one these people should be bitching at.

Just go straight to the source; SUV manufacturers, polluting factories, etc. Don't bitch at everyone else who for whatever reason chose to purchase an environmentally harmful product. It won't change anything.

Lucky Louie

Quite possibly the next greatest show is surfacing on HBO with its original raunchy humor involving a poor New Yorkish type family.

Lucky Louie is a new show featuring the very funny comedian, Louis C.K. who applied the sad, but true events that took place in his own life to the show. What I like most about the show, is how it reminds me of Married with Children without FOX censors and annoying neighbors.

At the moment there's only one episode available on OnDemand, so it's too early to tell how it will be accepted by the public, but from what I little I saw, I loved it. In fact in the sometime near future when the season 1 DVD is released, I'll be the first in line to get it.

I highly recommend you check it out, especially if you're a fan of Married with Children.

Moron: Stephen King
Sunday, June 11, 2006

I've never liked Stephen King's books, which is probably why I haven't read past the first page of any of his stuff. The word moron comes to mind whenever I hear his name mentioned. So now more than ever he's shown the world his blatant stupidity.

In a review published on the back page of Entertainment weekly written by him caught my eye, more specifically a bold quote of his on the left side of the article.

"When I hear critics warning audiences that United 93 might upset them - in that same year that the ferocious and bloody Hostel topped the box office - I can only shake my head in amazement." - Stephen King

First and foremost, how can he compare a crap movie like Hostel to United 93? One film is a depiction of what really happened on 9/11 in a flight hijacked by terrorists and the other, a poorly put together fabrication of fictional events that will probably never happen.

When people go to see Hostel, they go for its entertainment value, and I don't think there's anyone aside from terrorists who would take pleasure out of United 93. Therefore, audiences had to be warned, because those events took place only 5 years ago, still fresh in our minds.

He needs to get his fat head out of the ground and understand there are non-fictional films being released every so often that have more of an impact on people than his corny attempts at horror films.

Incredible

I've been watching The Apprentice show from time to time, I'm certainly not its number one fan, however tonight's season finally had me biting my nails. If you've seen the show at all, you know Trump has a way of keeping us on the edge with his decision and the inevitable, "you're fired" line.

Tonight's winner on the show was Sean, a brit who's been making million dollar deals for the past ten years. Which in that case, why would he need a job anyhow?

Nevertheless, his efforts, charm, and luck worked in his favor, because according to Trump, most of America felt he was the right choice.

In my opinion, I thought the runner up, Lee was going to get fired long ago, but I guess a kid can go a long way if he's surrounded by idiots.

What's up?

Boy it's been a long time since I last wrote something on here. I know what you're thinking, and whatever it is, you're probably right. I've been busy with World of Warcraft, spending time with the girlfriend, and working 2 jobs over this summer break.

I also just received my last grade for my previous semester and I must say, due to the fact I wasted most of last semester playing video games, hanging out with friends, and generally avoiding all school related work, I managed to pull off really good grades. No Cs!

It just goes to show my knack for laziness and procrastination, because if I were to get my work done way before it's due date, it wouldn't have turned out half as good. It's something about being under pressure that really get my creative juices going. Go figure.

Anyhow, my girlfriend's in the kitchen preparing breakfast and I gotta jet. But I assure most of you, good posts, they are a coming...
