Xbox 360

After going to the Depeche Mode concert last night, which was awesome, I headed over to Fry's Electronics to stand in line from 12:30am till 8am in hopes of getting the new Xbox 360. With rumors running wild, from 20 available systems to 200 and heated conversations between selling spots in line for 600 dollars to selling early system releases for over 1 grand, it was a nutty and uncertain evening to say the least.

I ended up getting the core systems with the, ahem, luxury of purchasing the additional accessories that come standard on the premium system separately. To top it off, one of the accessories happens to be a 20GB HD and turns out I'm not the only one stuck with the core system, because the HD is almost impossible to find, unless you're willing to pay over 200% over the retail price.

Now on to the system.

What can I say? It's a phenomenal system with features unlike anything you've ever seen in a gaming system. From personal "game-tag" photos to customized themes in the Xbox "dashboard" it's plain to see all the craze and accolades the Xbox is receiving.

The graphics with no question is a complete upgrade from the original Xbox, even on my crummy standard TV. So far I've played Perfect Dark and Condemned: Criminal Origins and I gotta say; the games fuckin' rock.

I have yet to try out the Live features, but from what I've seen so far, I'm sure it'll be as impressive as the rest of the system.

And, if you're one of the people standing behind me in line who didn't get jack shit last night, you'll be sad to find out you won't be getting a new system till February of next year (unless you want to pay over 3 grand for it on Ebay).

Don't forget to play Call of duty 2! Probably graphically one of the best games on the system. (other than condemned and PGR3)
